If you have an existing skype account you have used on your PC, can you set that same account up to use your mobile or do you have to have a separate account for your mobile?  I loaded the mobile app and signed in with my existing account, if I try to video call someone in my address book (iPhone user who has the app) it tells me I must have credits...

The user must be signed in on their device with the account that you are trying to contact in order to receive the call. I think you need to be running Skype on the iPhone in order to receive the call; on Skype for Windows Phone 8 Preview, the app can receive calls while it is not running.

You cannot call landline or cell phone contacts from Skype (on any client) without having Skype credit. In the Skype for Windows Phone app, tap the "call" button in the application bar (the one that looks like a phone), and then tap "call Skype" to make a free Skype-to-Skype call.

You can use the same account on your mobile device that you use everywhere else. The capabilities depend on the device that you are calling from and the device that you are calling to. If both are video capable, then you should be able to make a one-to-one video call, which does not require a subscription. Group video calling requires a subscription, though is not supported on the mobile clients.

I am trying to skype from a windows 8 phone (lumia 920) to iPhone (4S), both have installed the app.  If i try to call to their normal skype id, i can get to their PC.  If I click on their cell phone contact in my People hub, i get the message that you need credits.  What do you use for their ID ?
