Please upgrade to the latest Skype 6.5 (or newer versions) for Windows or Mac from www.skype.com/go/download

  • Open the Skype options (Windows: last entry in the "Tools" menu - Mac: "Preferences" from the "Skype" menu)
  • Open the "Advanced" options and the "Connection" sub-section there
  • Enable the new "Allow direct connections to contacts only." option. See below:

Sometimes the registry file doesn't work so just manually add them!

Hey, Here is the method to remain 100% anonymous on Skype by hiding your IP.
This very simple.

First, sign out of skype.

Go to http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy-list/ and find a fast proxy and port

Paste them in here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/33446/twitch/skype.html

Save to Disk>Desktop

Right click it, and select "merge"

Now Reload Skype.

To Verify it worked, sign in, go to Tools> Options> Advanced> Connection
Make sure your settings are like this. (The IP/Port will be different)

Now you will be 100% Anonymous. If your Proxy ever dies, simply right click the file on your desktop > Edit, and find a new proxy/port.

Post if this helped you at all!

I highly recommend you sign the petition here: http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Stop_Skype_Resolvers/

Also, share it with ALL of your Skype contacts as *every signature counts*.

Thanks.

You can't just "stop skype resolvers." Skype is a user to user communication program. Even if they change it to user to server to user, the old version of skype that is used to grab IP's will still work.
