Hi,

I have checked your account and it appears that your Skype Credit has become inactive. The credit balance in your account becomes inactive 180 days after the last chargeable use of your Skype Credit, as set out in our Terms of Use.

You can reactivate your Skype Credit. Use the following link to sign in to your account, then follow the instructions on the screen: https://secure.skype.com/account/credit-reactivate

We do send two separate email notices, 30 days and 7 days before your Skype Credit expires, to remind you to keep your Skype Credit balance active.

To receive these notices, please make sure you have a valid email address registered with Skype. You can view and change your email settings in your account: https://secure.skype.com/account

If further assistance is needed, you may contact Customer Service via chat or email through this link: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1170/

Hope this helps.

Julian

I got the message about cancelling my credit, but I use Skype pretty often.  How can I fix this?

Yes, I also have a message that says my Skype credit will be cancelled due to non-use.  But I do use Skype!  Why is my usage not seen?  It is certainly decremented when I use it.

I AM USING Skype.  Why will I be cancelled for not using it? How can I ensure that my usage will be noted and recorded?

Hi, DocsideDave,

Please clarify one point: are you using Skype (in other words, Skype-to-Skype calls), or your credit to cover the costs of calls of fixed or land line and/or mobile or cellular numbers?

If the former, your credit of course would not be effected and the calls are not recorded in your account usage history.  If the latter, which by your noting, "It is certainly decremented when I use it,"  the outbound calls should be recorded as the costs of each call would be recorded.  If this is not the case, please contact Skype Customer Service directly for assistance as we here in the Community would not be able to review your account.

Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service

You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely match the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started.

Regards,
Elaine

Sorry not to be more specific.  I understand that reactivating my credit may be easy, but also inconvenient while waiting for it to be restored.   What I don't understand is that although I have bought Skype Credit recently--within 180 days and actually as recently as a month ago--and I have used Skype recently to make a call, I got a message that my Skype Credit [which I bought recently and used recently] will be deactivated  due to inactivity.  Why's That, Fonzie?

Hi, DocksideDave,

Thanks for your further information!  Excellent question ... and one which I must refer you to contact Skype Customer Service to sort.  We here in the Community do not have access to Skype accountholder files or records.

Regards,

Elaine
