If you want an example of those links, I got one here :

goo.gl/8ak3zj.info

Remove the .info if you want the actual suspect link, this one is safe and send you to the google analysis of the short url, you may check it if you like. It seems to send you on some russian site according to google, as said OP.

This same exact thing happened to me at around the same time, I am unsure as to how I would go about fixing this, any solutions would be great, thanks.

The same thing happened from my account. Message have been sent around 5am (UTC+2). I don't see them in my Skype history, but I have asked my contacts to report spam on the URL shortener website. Not sure if it helps at all though, seems like a different shortlink is sent to each contact.

As for the cause: Live Account activity shows nothing suspicious and no external applications show up in Skype's advanced options. Virus and malware scans found nothing so far either.

I have immediately changed my Skype and Microsoft passwords and set up 2 step authentication for my Microsoft account. No further spam messages were received since then (as far as I'm aware). Still it would be nice to know what was going on.

Hi,

just adding, that this exact same thing happened to me as well. I also believe it must be a security issue, as I haven't opened/received any suspicious messages or been to any strange websites. I changed my Skype password but I'm not sure if this is enough?

I don't know much about this issue, but I did some research and found that last time it ocurred they suspected it was a "keylogger", it records the keys you type on the keyboard, i've gone to the forum's posting my hijack and services list and they found nothing BTW. I've changed my acc password, I don't know if there is a 2 step autentication like Google has but it might be good for Skype acc security

Hi, i got the exact same thing. But it was sent around 1 am so i dont think it was sent from my pc.

Edit: I want to add that i didn't download any music, games, porn or anything at all. Also, i didnt go on any sites which may contain content like this (music, games, porn). Since i did never log into Skype with my mobile phone and it was sent while i was offline, i think (and i hope) thats a skype problem.

I first received the link, by a contact that was Offline at the time, but for me he was Online for some reason, and he sent me the message, when I asked him about that link, he said he wasn't Online at that time, so we got to check his Skype chat log, and the link was there, for surprise he received this message from all of his contacts.

Hi, same here, I pay attention to security and anyway I haven't used my password (haven't logged in on new device) since more than a year. Someone started spamming from my account 14:51 (GMT +3 Poland). Changed password. Since it happens to more people, you think Skype had a security breach?
