Yes this is not solved. Today Someone used my Skype account to send a link to all my contacts.

I don't have a weak password, I don't know how they did...

Microsoft you suck, I will use Slack.

About 6 months ago i got a baidu link from one of my contacts. The kind that has username last in the URL.

Then about a week ago baidu links were sent out from my account to almost all of my contacts when my computer was turned off.

I did some tests and concluded that Skype preview opens links in conversations even when there is no preview rendered for the user (!). This means that despite me never clicking the baidu link sent to me it was opened by Skype preview bots, and so my username in the URL got sent to the spammers.

As a side-note I also noticed that bingbot/2.0 made a visit to my test web-server minutes after the Skype preview.

I received a mysterious link to what appeared to be a google site from a Skype friend (which had my under ID embedded in it) who later said he did not post such. When I clicked on it on my iPhone it attempted to go to Russian Site. I've been unsuccessful trying to post a picture of this link and it's too long to type here. Have I been breached?

I would also like an answer to this. I accidentally clicked on a similar link. I noticed the link first sent you to a .ru site, but it also immediately redirects to a clickbait site.

Am I compromised in clicking this link, or have I provided some details to a phishing site or opened a port or installed a trojan?

Skype should add a button to the private message functionality, allowing you to report if you think the account had been compromised. This would hopefully get the message deleted before a less-experienced contact of my friend is duped and clicks the link.

I got the same problem. I was not able to log-in until skype asked me to upgrade to latest version then suddenly all my contacts received this hyperlink message "go to this website" .

So I assume it came from skype or skype was hacked. I have to apologize to all my contacts one by one, asked them not to open the link as it is either dating page or some "xxx" site.

Please help. thank you.
