Error on Skype for Windows 8

Everytime i run Skype for Windows 8, It keeps on crashing.

I see the following error in Event Viewer:

What Should I do, I have tried uninstalling all previous versions of Skype..

Cleared my appdata folder and also tried re installing skype for Win 8 a couple of times!!!

Please install the Windows 8 Media Pack to your computer, and then try to run Skype again. You can get the pack here. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30685

Are you running with a built-in administrator account?

 

Reset IE. Click Internet Options >> Advanced >> Reset >> Mark Delete personal settings. Click OK >> Restart.

Hi! I read this fourm and I kinda have the same problem I have a new Windows 8 Computer and I am having difficulties on skype when I open it the opening music happens then it imediatly closes. I tried the link you posted and it took 15 minutes to download amd when I open it it only says The Update is not applicable to this computer. I really need help and this computer costs loads!!    :catsad: :robotsad:

followed the advise to download the media pack and did not get positive results.  just received a note that not applicable on my machine.

I downloaded the old version on skype for windows 7 and it works It may not be the newer version but it will do

I have had the same problem, it wont allow me to download the skype app for windows 8 and when I download the desktop skype it wont recognise my cam that is built in. Can someone help with this?

I had difficulties receiving calls from outside.

Today I removed Skype from W8 and installed an old version to the desktop. Now all works normally.

Obviously the new version is too "raw" to W8. Test more and improve it before get it to public!!

It's weird.  I have 3 accounts on this computer, two of them downloaded Skype without a problem, and mine won't work!  The Store says I own Skype, but no icon for Skype is at Start.  It's weird!  I followed the steps it didn't help
