How to change mood message without Skype crashing?

A few days ago, I put ":o" as my mood message. I clicked on the bar to change it, but when I tried to delete it, the screen blacked out. Five-six seconds later, the loading screen for Skype popped up. It logged me back in automatically.

The mood message still had ":o" (as the Skype emoji). I tried putting text next to it, to try and delete it all at once, without a space. ":o«"

That didn't work either. Skype crashed again.

I tried copying/pasting as well. If I try to highlight it, it crashes.

If I even tap it, it crashes.

How should I fix this?
