Hello:

My son has skype on their samsung s3.  The issue that we run into is that people call/text him after he has gone to bed and the sound wakes him up.  Is there a way to mute all skype sounds during the night time hours?  Or is there a was to simply supress the call/text during night time hours?  What other parental control options are out there for skype?

Thanks!

Hi, Suprafun, and welcome to the Community,

Skype does not include a parental control facility such as you describe; neither are timers part of the client software.  At the risk of sounding ridiculous, may I offer the no-tech solution to simply log out of Skype when such notifications are neither necessary nor desired?

Best regards,

Elaine

thank you for the reply.

Is there a way that I could recommend this to be added for a future release?

I can certainly do the "no tech" approach, but it requires me to think about checking this at the end of the day -- when all i want to think about is going to sleep.

Thanks

Hi, SupraFun,

Consider your post that you already have made the suggestion!  We never know who on Skype staff is reviewing posts and monitoring the Community in stealth mode ...

Best regards,

Elaine
