Go to SETTINGS, APPLICATIONS, MANAGE APPLICATIONS, and select Skype, UNINSTALL.

After the Uninstall, you can go back to the Android Market and download Skype. You can sign in using your existing username and password.

Be careful of how you choose your Settings.

You will find all Skype entries from the Android Contacts are gone.

you can't change the settings before you sign in, and after you sign in the contacts are already imported to your android phone's contact list since the default setting syncs contacts. Then if you set the settings to not sync the contacts, it doesn't remove the contacts from the phone's contact list. Seems like there's no way to not have skype contacts added to the phone contacts.

Typical Microsoft BS. In your contact list press the menu button and choose "Accounts", look for your Skype account and click on it and then choose "Remove Account"

On Andriod mobile go to skype main page.

on the top-right click on the button with 3 dots. Choose Settings. Choose the 3rd option that is "Synchronization of Contacts". Choose the 2nd option that is "Do not Synchronize". Click on Continue.

Now the skype contacts are disapperaed from your mobile contacts.

It would help alot if posters were careful to distinguish whether they are talking about:

o   The Phone Master Contact List

and

o   The Skype application's Contact List

The Skype applications's list has three further sub lists:

      o   All

      o   Skype

      o   Available.
