no ring-incoming call iphone

can anyone help? Iphone with new skype software app, updated. phone does not ring on incoming call. help! doug

Same problem.

Skype doesn't ring or show new incoming messages.

I can just see that somebody is calling me if i'm with the phone with skype app opened and the phone is not in standby mode. In other words, if the phone is in the pocket i'll never receive a call from skype.

It sounds like you're using a newer version of iOS on your iPhone.  You'll have to go into the Notification Center and set the notification options for Skype there.  Otherwise, you will only see/hear the Skype app ring for an incoming call when the Skype app is active on your screen.

Regarding the iPhone Skype app, I would like to see it ring like the native Phone app does when you have an incoming call.  Right now, as far as I can tell, it only displays a silent alert on the home screen UNLESS you have the Skype app running in the foreground (onscreen) all the time and sleep mode turned off.  Consquently, this requires the phone to constatnly be plugged into power to work like a real phone.  I just ditched ATT (celluar) and now just use the iPhone for Skype calling since I'm within WiFi Range 90% of the time.

Try the following:

Go to Settings of your iphone, find Notification, set Skype's notification "On", and sound "on", etc.
