Please tell me why skype won't ring when i am receiving a call on my ipad?

I have this issue too and really, after a search in google - it sounds like all(?) or most (!) iPad or iPhone users have the same problem! Really - can't sweep it under a rug Skype - fix it or don't advertise it as working - when it clearly doesn't. Sounds like you have been working on this FOREVER! What good is a video/phone app that doesn't ring?

every since the new os5 update skype wont ring or notify me of messages in sleep mode or even with the program open.

My iPad has never rung, either before or after ios5. In effect it means that "Skype for iPad" simply does not work! Hello Skype, Hello!!!!

In my opinion, it seems this issue is possibly related to Apple's push for facetime and txt messaging services of its own.

A restriction by Apple maybe?  Is there something we should know about?

I am having the same problem. It used to ring until just before Christmas and since hasn't. It's a pain as I depend on this to keep in contact with my husband who works in a war zone and I leave it on so he can call me when he is back in. I can't keep my eyes glued to the iPad 24/7 as I do have a life back here! Please please Skype can you get this sorted? P.s. I have the ipad2 and I've had it since august and has been working fine!
