Re: Voicemail?

I have only just realised, about 80% of my voicemails I have never heard! What the heck! I thought it was strange no-one ever leaves a voicemail. turns out skype doesn't want me listening to them! What happens if a member of my family dies, someone tries to leave a voicemail, does skype filter it and say not important! this sux! skype has just gone right down in my estimations!!!!!

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?????

Re: Voicemail?

Where is my voicemail? Got an email saying I had received one...these emails at least used to give the number or skype name of the person who called but now no idea who it is. Check on both my appliances, computer and ipad. No record of a call at that time and no access to a voicemail. Why am I paying for a skype number and voicemail if it just disappears?

Please could someone sort this out. It appears I am not the only one!

Re: Voicemail?

Same problems here - email notification and no voicemail appearing in the conversation history.

Workaround is to logout of Skype then back in again and magically the VM icon appears.  I tend to stay logged in for days on end, maybe that's the problem?

Re: Voicemail?

Yeah but I don't stay logged in for days so that's not the root of the problem.

Re: Voicemail?

Logging out and back in changes nothing for me. I get email notifications that I have a VM but I either don't get it at all or I get it hours later or the next day. Again, sometimes I don't get it at all.  Not acceptable.

Re: Voicemail?

It's not solved for most of the people in this thread if you look below.

I called support and there was 20 minutes of time wasting where 34 people already posted about the same problem. The first guy said he had to "transfer me to the technical team" when I already selected technical team as the place for the support ticket. There were numerous "thanks for being patient " messages and in the end the answer was "we don't know, the team is working on it." (Known voicemail problem). Then I was told that I could go to heartbeat.skype.com but there were only 4 blogs there and when I search for voicemail I just got the general sales pages about voicemail. I was also told that config.xml would be on my hard drive and it wasn't. It just seemed like stall tactics.

Re: Voicemail?

I also chatted with technical supported...  Lame response: "aware of issue," "thank you for your patience," "being addressed...."

Unfortunately, even IF it is being addressed, the next update isn't due for another month, as the current v5.9.0.123 is only a couple of days old...  Which means we may be short of vmail for quite some time!

I think I may try uninstalling Skype completely (using the Support guide to remove everything), and then try older versions of Skype....  Am going to sleep now, so hope someone else can give it a shot too in the meantime...
