When I press the "video call" green button Skype makes a "voice call" not a video call. How do I fix this

Can you please give us a bit more information, you do not see your own video either? When you choose to make a video call, but then only see yourself once the call has started, then the other side has likely not chosen to answer with video. In case of a voice call you can not see yourself either, but simply the profile picture of the other person.

When I press the video call button the connection automatically changes to voice call. I don't have the option to click back onto video. I'm  only just learning how to use Skype and Or not sure if this is a fault at my end or their end. 

I can see and hear them but they can only hear me. Thank you for replying

which device is the other party using, which iOS and Skype version are you using? have they added you as a contact and can see you in their contact list?
