Unwanted auto login on mobile

Hello, all,

I was on Skype on both mobile (Verizon phone) and PC today and saw one of my contacts on there. She appeared to be going on and offline a lot, maybe 10-20 minutes or so at a time and then disappeared and went offline... but this happened only on her iPhone mobile version. I thought this was strange and she told me by email and by Skype IM that she didn't even login and at first didn't even know it was coming from her phone. She suspects her phone maybe having issues or her wifi connection, as she also has a PC version of the program. Has anyone here ever experienced this auto login/ log-off issue with a mobile and/ or iPhone?

Re: Unwanted auto login on mobile

I am having the exact same problem, and maybe a solution.

It seems like the default setting for Skype on iPhone is to stay online even when the app is quit, until you log out or shut down the app completely using the iPhone's task switcher.

Turns out this functionality can be turned off, so instead Skype always goes immediately offline when you quit the app. Just go to the Settings app on you iPhone, then scroll down and choose Skype in the list, and change the setting "Go Offline" to "Immediately".

(I am doing these changes in Swedish, so those text labels may not be exactly right, hopefully anyone reading this will figure it out.)

My theory is that when this option was turned on, Skype would "wake up" on various phone activities such as notifications or other network traffic, causing you to go online even when not using the phone.

I have changed my options as described above and will soon know if it solves my problem. If anyone else tries this, please post back here and let us know how it worked out.
