Subscription not showing on Iphone 4

My query is quite simple. I subscribed to Skype to make unlimited calls to landline phones in europe using Skypes app on my iphone 4. It tells me all over Skypes shiny website that i will totally be able to do this.

I have trashed my app and reinstalled it but still the error message tells me "i need to buy credit". .......I just did! And i checked the sparkly website again and it says quite specifically

"With Skype for iPhone you can call your friends and family wherever they are in the world. Simply pay as you go with Skype Credit or get a monthly subscription for our best calling rates."

Anybody got any ideas, or did i buy a dud?

I have the same problem as you. My Iphone 4 shows that I don't have any credit despite that my credit is showing on my desktop. As such, I am unable to make any phone calls.

I will be going overseas and am hoping that I could use my Iphone to make calls through Skype.

I wonder if anyone could help me out.

To make matters worse on my Iphone Skype app, a little orange bubble just came up on my dial page telling me something along the lines of "for cheaper landline calls subscribe ......" then it dissapeared!!

Not sure we are going to get a moderator here to help!

Skype-to-Skype calls are free, but you will need a little Skype Credit or a subscription to make calls to mobiles and landlines. Operator data charges may apply when using Skype over a mobile data connection.

Did you ever get a valid answer to your question. I also purchased a subscription and it isn't showing up on my iPhone 4s app or my Mac Skype app.... Fearing fraud. My subscription says "Delivered". ??????

and not only my subscription but my credits too!

Everything is working fine on my desktop but on my iphone 4s it is not showing up.

I've googled a lot and tried everything from turning off/on to thrash->reinstall.

Help needed and appreciated.

if you want to see your active subscriptions, go to skype.com and log into your account there, the iPhone app currently does not show subscriptions. Also please keep in mind that subscription does not show as Skype Credit balance, these are 2 separate things.

Thank you very much for the reply here, and clarifying for people the difference between credit and subscriptions.
However I was making the point that the website very clearly states..

"With Skype for iPhone you can call your friends and family wherever they are in the world. Simply pay as you go with Skype Credit or get a monthly subscription for our best calling rates." (Copied and pasted from Skype website)

..... now from that, I definitely take that I can use a subscription on the IPhone.

Turns our not to be the case.

I appreciate you taking the time to come back on this and ofcourse the language used on the website has nothing to do with the moderators on here, it's just very frustrating when you purchase a product that doesn't provide what it is advertised to do.

Hi,

you can also use the subscription on the iPhone. If you had an active subscription and were still advised that you need Skype Credit to call, then this might have been because you called a number that was not covered by the subscription. The Unlimited Europe for example includes calls to landlines only. You'll see a list of countries included from the subscription settings page.
