The problems i'm experiencing are:

- Contacts not showing with the correct online/offline status in chat lists

- No way to see if a message has been received or not (can we please bring back the italicising of undelivered chat messages? Please? or have a 'pending' sign next to them)

- Skype generally crashing on iOS5

- Crashes when loading history (though I do like being able to load full chat history and the syncing between PC and phone etc, but understand others don't so maybe it could be made optional somehow?)

- General slowness in response times.

I know it's been asked to death, but if an update isn't going to be available in the very near future, could you please provide us with a way to download the previous ipa so we can roll back? I'd managed to rollback but it's now been accidentally upgraded again and is unusable again  

As an aside, I actually preferred the layout of the old UI, with the different colour boxes for messages. It made it much easier to follow a conversation, so perhaps as an enhancement that colour differentiation could also be brought back?

I'm running iOS5 on an iPhone 4 and on an iPod Touch 3rd Gen

I am very sorry to hear that you are experiencing crashing and unexpected behaviour with Skype for iPhone. 

In order to solve the problem, please remove the app from your iPhone, reboot your iPhone and then install the app again.

Hi,

I've already tried that a couple of times and it still doesn't work. 

Please issue a bug fix release very soon with the missing functionality reinstated, or allow download of the previous version so we can continue to use skype without issue.

Same issues here. Posted elsewhere but still have gotten no reply from Skype tech support. Here it is again:

I updated to latest version of skype and also have lasted version of iOS5 on iphone 4. Now Skype constantly quits out. The app will be open and then all of a sudden gone...quits out to desktop of iphone. On the occasion that Skype stays launched and I leave it launched but running in background to open another app....When I return to skype I always have to keep logging back in. What gives? It should stay active always in background. It used to. Very counter-productive now.

Also when I click on some of my contacts with previous conversation threads skype just locks up and freezes...have to quit out. It won't open up the conversation threads from some of my contacts. *sigh

Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution??

After all the bashing on the reviews etc. that this app is getting, I cannot believe staff at Skype have no idea how bad it is.

For a start, I delete an old missed call / chat thread, then when I open Skype again, it's back!

The chat history will constantly reload, and takes ages to do so, slowing down my typing or causing it to crash

When I rotate my screen, I can't read messages as the keyboard is present, and there's a white buffer below, pushing messages off the screen

It keeps crashing!

Where is my profile picture?

How do I know if my message has been sent and received yet? The old Skype left it in grey italics until it had gone through

The latest update is useless. The only reason I use it is because it allows my girlfriend, who lives miles away, to talk to me for free from her PAYG phone.

What is being done about this? Why can't you sort these bugs? Don't say you're not aware of them - I've gone through the reviews on the app store for starters!

Does not work after delete, rebooting and reinstall. No ring nor diplay. You know the problem. Stop wasting peoples time. I pay for what?
