Encountered the same sign-in error message using the Skype app on a iPod 4th gen.  The Skype app was running in background when I went to log in.  I was able to log into my account only stopping and restarting the Skype app.

Same thing with my iphone and skype. Stared experiencing it a few days ago after the last upgrade! Very inconvenient!!!!

The problem started when I updated to the latest Skype for iPhone. It may be because I am also logged on with my laptop.

Skype, can you simply put the previous version back on app store for us to download before you guys figure out how to fix the sign in problem. Im missing many important phone calls (im a paid customer) and i'm out of patient!

Same problem here with the new iPad. I need to reinstall the app to be able to sign in to Skype....and I can only do it once. Very disappointed with Skype putting out an app that doesn't work....

Sign in problem with my iPhone (computer is no problem). This is just new issue, started today as far as I know.
Can't use skype on iPhone, driving me nuts,
How is this problem rectified, please
