No ring audio on Ipad/iPhone 4S

There is no ringing audio with iOS version 5.0.1 with Skype version 3.6.218. I have checked all volume settings. Hope this is resolved soon. Cheers Arvind.

Am having the same problem. So frustrating, people having to call me on my mobile as I have no idea they are calling me on Skype, also missing loads of calls as a result. Please fix this ASAP! Such a basic thing for it not to be working...

The incoming audio tone suddenly stopped working on my ipad 2 but it still works on the laptop which is running Windows Vista. It is most annoying as I am missing so many calls. I have checked all the settings on the ipad and cannot find anything wrong. If it is incompatability, I hope they fix it soon

I think I found how to set the push to work in the background. The problem is there are 2 places to set up Notifications. First:

Go to "Settings" and scroll down to the "Skype" settings. Make sure "Sign In Automatically" is ON and "Go Offline" is set to Never. Then below the "Notifications" sould be set with "Sound" and Alerts" ON.

Then go to "Settings>Notifications>Skype". Make sure "Notification Center" is ON,  "Alert Style" is set to Alerts and "Badge App Icon", "Sounds" and "View in Lock Screen" are ON.

That should do. If you can't find the Notification>Skype try turning the Skype Setting OFF then ON. That should make it appear.

I too had this problem with my iPad 3. Being new to Apple I have been, at times, a little lost and like mhs0mhs0, I assumed that because I could hear Skype, music and other sounds on my iPad that my audio settings were fine. Because the iPad Skype seems rather short on features compared to the Windows versions - seemingly a bit of a poor relation, I just put down the lack of ringing tone to a bug in the Skype version.  I have, however,  just tried Deewee's fix - wonderful! In addition to the Skype ringtone I have now got a host of other sounds like 'speaking text' which were not working on the iPad for me before. Thank you Deewee.

I have is issue aswell...however. On my iPad 1, everything works fine, it rings on incomming calls. The setup is identical on my iPad 3, but no incomming ringtone. Tried reisntalling it, didnt help.

Ideas? iOS ans skype versions are identical.

I only started have problems when I updated my Ipad.  This is a very frustrating problem that needs to be fixed QUICKLY.  I have tried everything...no luck.

i tried the fix suggested by shyfoxx and activated skype in the notifications center...  I know see a badge on the screen when there is an incoming call, but still no audible ring tone.  Sux.

I had same problem, no incoming ring but could hear conversation. I discovered that mute was switched on. It appears that it only affected the incoming ring sound and not the voice. My mute was hidden because I have the side switch set to lock rotation. Use 4 finger swipe up to reveal open icon bar then sideways swipe along lower screen icons to reveal the mute icon and check it has no strike through it.
