Iphone 3g ios version: 4.2.1 skype 4.0.1325 incompatible.

Please fix this problem as you are cutting off a lot of your users and stopping us from communicating. Somebody suggested making the old app available for 4.2.1 users as a legacy app - I think this is a really great idea. Things were fine the way they were before... PLEASE, SKYPE!?

I'm sorry, but Skype won't support an operating system (iOS 4.2.1.) that it's creator (Apple) dropped support for half a year ago. Please ask Apple to support their own devices for longer then Skype will be happy to do the same.

The problem right now is that the features of newer iOS version that we are using in the Skype app are not supported on those older devices any more

This is truly increible. We're not asking you to "support" the OS, or add new features, just host an earlier version.

2-year-old devices are now no longer being supported; that's really eco-friendly.

What is happening is that accidental iphone syncing is removing perfectly good older apps. and only presenting you with a new version which now doesn't work.

It's as if MS were automatically removing XP from your computer, and putting on Vista/Win7/8 and then telling you your computer hasn't got the hardware to run it. You gotta go some.

I downloaded, but still can't install. iTunes gives this error message:

Tried to look for an older version of the app and can't find one either and the ones I do give me an error as I try to install it anyone know of a fix for it or another app that will let me sign into my skype

Skype -- please don't leave us hanging. Please kindly offer the legacy version "at our own risk". I just paid for an annual skype premium account + online number, too! My iphone misses, you. Please place a legacy app in the app store for us!
