Everywhere folk can choose what they want to show to public and what private!!!!!!!!

some profile information are permanently fixed to be visible to anyone, to your contacts only, and only to you.  On the other hand, you can choose the visibility settings for some details such as your profile images.  you can see which is which by going to the Edit Yout Profile page.  So if you don't want to show your webpage and date of birth, you may need to delete them in your Profile details.

moreover, there is no private pictures in skype anyway, I am not sure what you are referring to this.

Well, first of all I know how I can edit my profile, but the web site and the birth date I want to show to my contacts, but not to the whole world, however there's no option for that - either it's for everybody or for nobody, thou the profile picture I can choose to show only for the contacts. Birth date for instance, for some folk even more private then the picture, thou skype decides otherwise! And then about private pictures you say there's no private pictures on skype, and you are WRONG - yeas there are!!! All my chat and all stuff I send via skype to my contacts should be private and it is pictures and other files, chat history and active chat and calls. What if skype suddenly decides that this is public as well?!!! Why not expose that as well? If skype decides that we have to share our birth date and web site with everyone, that we HAVE to see this annoying skype home window everytime we start skype!!! What kind of freaks started to work on skype development - it is either used to spy on folk or some maniacs who are really disturbed who doing all this stuff!!!

Fully agree, skype has trespassed the privacy line at this point. And to defend ourselves, we need to keep uncomplete data on our profiles.

I agree with the posts above: tha user should be free to decide who he wants to share some personal details with. I understand that there are "terms and conditions" papers but one can have the freedom to say that those papers need to be revised.
besides I cannot understand the reason for making the date of birth availabe to everybody.
Skype is probably the most widely used VoIP software on the market but there are other options that, maybe, would grant more privacy to the consumers.
When Skype/Microsoft will realize that they are loosing users because poor protection of sensitive data they will review thier policies AND their application at the same time!
I deleted all my sensitive personal informations few seconds ago, just to stay on the safe side.
