Skype stops working after locking PC - Windows 7

Hello,

I have a new 64-bit Windows 7 Pro laptop and when I step away from my computer at work, I always lock my PC.  If I have a video call going when I lock the PC (just to step away for a moment) and I come back to my desk and unlock the PC, I get a message that Skype has stopped working and needs to close.

I did not experience this with my 32-bit Windows 7 Pro machine.  I have the most recent version of Skype (no updates available).

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Click on Help > About Skype to make sure you actually have the latest version, 5.8.0.154.  The auto-update feature isn't 100% reliable.  If you don't have the latest version, update via this link:

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

If the problem still happens with the new version, look in Event Viewer, Administrative view, to see if there are any errors with a time stamp when Skype crashed.   If such an error is there and you copy and paste the results here it maybe shed some light on where the problem lies.

edit:  I'm running Win 7 Pro (x64) and locking Windows during a Skype call doesn't cause Skype to stop working.

Wow, dont' I feel silly...  I just looked at the auto update instead of checking the actual verison numbers.

I was on 4.-something.  Crazy that auto update told me I was up-to-date.  After updating to the true most recent version, everything works great.

Thanks!

'Tis why I've started always asking for a specific version number.  It's very common for users to say they have the "latest" when they don't.

Anyway, glad you're back in business. :(y):
