Skype Slowly Steals all my CPU [ Edited ]

(Dual-Core CPU 3.06GHZ, 4GB RAM) Skype has Since 5.0 and 5.5 i will open skype boot up will take 40% cpu goes down to around a nice 2% but i keep the Task manager open and every time task manager updates it will go in a  cycle where it increase decreses a little bit increases more then last increase decreses slightly more then last decrese. so it goes up every so slowly till its around 50% and im forced to shut it down. I gone through threads i have re-installed and made sure its up to date. i wanted to downgrade however dunno where to download the older version becouse the Skype website is very uninformative on stuff like that.

Up-to-date as of now is version 5.8.0.156.  You can download the full installer via this link:

Yeah I tried to update but it was stuck at 100% so I forced to reinstall got the newest one still stealing all my CPU like expected from skype...

Now to try the old version. Can't believe skype became so bad.

What older version you recommend tempted to go to 4.0

I can't recommend any specific old version.  The current version works great for me.  When Skype is idling, as it is now, it's using 0% CPU.

Good luck finding an older version that does what you need it to do.

Lucky for some. I really like micrsoft but since the take over Skype has became **bleep**.
