Skype Disconnects after 15 seconds [ Edited ]

Recently me and my Gf have been having problems with 1 on 1 calls and we have no internet problems.

The problem is when I call my gf or she calls  me the call lasts for at least 15 seconds until it disconnects we've tried rebooting the PC's and even reinstalling skype but nothing worked. After we give it like a day rest this problem is gone, however it comes back like 2 weeks later.

I also found out that even the calls with the skype test call get disconnected as well.

If you're not both already running version 5.8.0.154, download the installer here and run it to upgrade:  http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

Then click on Tools > Options > Advanced settings > Connection, uncheck all the boxes and save the settings.

See if those steps solve the problem.

Dude, hate to be a bother, but it didn't work for me. At the moment, I'm running Windows Vista. It's plugged to a router (Linksys E2500). And the router is running through the modem, like a basic router.. I set up skype and it disconnects within seconds, all my internet goes out and I gotta restart computer..even then it takes a few seconds more to load my internet..Please Help? :/

I am having exactly the same problem. I've tried all the fixes listed here, but it still hangs up after someone says "hello." With voicemail on the other end, it doesn't even get that far.

I am extremely open to suggestions.
