Index of file:///C:/ProgramData/Skype/Apps/login/

I have tried going through the steps mentioned in other threads (run; program data; login1; etc...) and it is not working.  I have also tried completely deleting skype and re-installing it.  That did not work either.  It worked up until about a week ago.  Then, I went into skype to call my mother.  The program automatically updated and hasn't worked since.  I have even tried to "restore previous versions" and that did not work either.  HELP!  I am so lost and frustrated!

Re: Index of file:///C:/ProgramData/Skype/Apps/login/

Please, answer first these questions:

What version of Windows are you on? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

Go to Windows Start and in the Search box type winver.exe and then press Enter.

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

[ Edited ]

We are using Windows 7, 64-bit and Internet Explorer 9.  I do not use IE as my default browser, but never have.  Does that matter?  My default is Mozilla Firefox.

Re: Index of file:///C:/ProgramData/Skype/Apps/login/

It’s totally irrelevant whether or not you are using IE. Skype is using IE in order to create and manage the new login window as well as the “Add a contact” function.

The problems, which you are experiencing, are caused by Internet Explorer not being able to properly execute JavaScript. The following procedure should correct this.

Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

The Command Prompt window should show:

C:\Windows\SysWoW64>

If what you are seeing is:

C:\Windows\System32>

then in the Command Prompt type: cd..  (2 dots are important) and press Enter.

Now you should see this in the Command Prompt:

C:\Windows>

Next type cd syswow64 and press Enter.

Now you should see this in the Command Prompt:

C:\Windows\SysWoW64>

Type this and then press Enter:

regsvr32 jscript.dll

Next type this and press Enter:

regsvr32 jscript9.dll

After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.

Reboot your computer.

Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE) this page:

http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

Re: Index of file:///C:/ProgramData/Skype/Apps/login/

Hmmm...when I do that I see  C:\Users\Owner>

If I cd..  then I get rid of Owner, and I do it again to get rid of User, but I am left with C:\>

I can't get Windows to show up?  What does that mean?  I am so sorry to be so much trouble...

Thank you for your help!

OK. In this case just type this in the Command Promt:

cd c:\windows\syswow64

and then just follow the registration commands.

Re: Index of file:///C:/ProgramData/Skype/Apps/login/

OK...I did all of that and went to the website. I clicked the "check it" button and nothing happened.  So, I went through the website's steps of enabling the scripting.  Restarted and still nothing.
