Disabling Skype Home autostart

I use skype in the classic mode with separate windows and since the new release 5.5 a separate window for Skype Home automatically pops up each time I login to Skype and it's really an annoyance to me.

Is there any way to disable the autostart of Skype Home?

+1 here. There's nothing in Skype Home I use. I simply want Skype to open in compact mode or a system tray icon. I don't want to close "Skype Home" every time Skype starts.
Not a fan of the "Default" view - like compact much better with separate windows for each conversation.

Understood, just confirming that there is no method supported by Skype to not display the Home page currently.

I cannot fathom why the decision was made during development to make this non-supressable.

I can only speak for myself but I think it's a serious security breach to run an application from a source you don't know, that does who-knows-what to your system.

How 'bout telling us what your little app does so we can do it ourselves manually?

Also, based on the description, it sounds exactly like what known-quantity Clickoff does, except Skype-specific.
