Connection Problem

I am experiencing some strange problems.  My skype is failing to connect.  It continuously has a circle with two arrows that says connecting.  It is just stuck on that.  I don't really know what happened.  It has been working well for years. I get my contact list but it shows no one is on line. As for myself, it shows the two arrow symbol. HELP! How do i correct this.

First thing to check is can you browse websites with Internet Explorer, even if IE isn't your primary browser?

If yes, in IE go to Internet Options > General > Browsing history and click Delete.  That will clear IE's cache.  If still no joy, more details please:

What version of Windows are you running?  XP, Vista, Win7?

What version of Skype?  Help > About Skype.

What anti-virus / firewall?
