Connection Issue. [ Edited ]

Hello,

I just got an weird Issue with my Skype client.

When I click on "Add Contacts" , the window shows up, saying : "Check your connection
You don't seem to have an active internet connection.

Please check your connection and try again." 

P.S. My connection is running and friends can see my messages.

The first thing to check is if your Internet Explorer is not set to “Work offline” mode. Note, that regardless which browser you are using, Skype is using IE in order to create and manage the "Add a contact" window.

I just opened my IE and yeah, I can't connect to anything from there, how do I fix that ?

This image shows the situation when IE is set to “Work offline” mode. Uncheck this option.

I used to be able to connect to Skype without issue.  Stopped using it for a while.   Came back to use it today and now am unable to connect.  I re-installed latest version, but still unable to connect.    running Windows xp v2.14.   Any ideas?

I went to the solution....  IE is NOT set to work offline but I have the identical problem:  Skype tells me that I don't have an internet connection when I try to add a contact.  I can be contacted, however.

What do you see when you open this link in your Internet Explorer?

Also, in your Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
