5.8 Beta Screen Share.

I would like to report that in this new update (5.8 beta) screen sharing does not work anymore in a non-converence call.

What version of 5.8 do you have?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.  The latest public version is 5.8.0.154 and it's not a beta version.

In version 5.8 screen sharing is still available on a one-to-one call, but unless you have a Premium subscription, it won't work with your webcam video feed running.

Turn off your webcam and then share screen.  That should work.

I'm having the same problem.

I have the latest version of Skype (5.8.0.154) and it will not allow me or the person I'm talking to to share our screens.

We both have the latest version, our videos off and we've tried ending the call and getting off of skype and getting back on. But it's still not working.

Is yours or your friend's connection status "Invisible". In Skype 5.8, the screen sharing option is disabled in the case when the contact's status is "Invisible".
