More details are needed for a fellow user on the forum to be able to offer any help.  For starters:

What type webcam?

What version of Skype do you have installed?  Click on Help > About Skype for the specific version number.

What version of Windows?  XP?  Vista?  Windows 7?

If you click on Tools > Options > Video settings, do you see your video there?   If not, whta does it say in the Select webcam box?

I'd like to know the answer to that also. And how do I know if the mike is working. Does any one know how to check them on a hp touchscreen iq 504? See if they are not muted. Using Skype 6.0.59.126
