sound from both handset and speakers

I have a USB hanset and it works fine. However, whilst it is plugged in, ALL my system sounds are sent to it, not to my speakers.

Clearly, I only want the skype call sound to go to my handset and my PC audio to my speakers as normal but I can't see how to configue win 7 or Skype. Any ideas please?

configure Windows default speaker device to be something other than the USB handset while the handset is plugged in

right-click speaker icon in tray, click Playback devices . . .
