skype so heavy/bloaty?

Hey,

So when I log into skype and just see who is online skype uses 91,288K memory?!!? and when I call someone it jumps into the hundreds and my laptop becomes such a crawlllll! everything turns so slow and like I can't do anything?!!? even though I meet the specs to install and run skype it makes my laptop so slow?!

anything that can be done about this?

it depends on the number of contacts u have....the more contacts u have the more memory it will take

thats stupid, is there anything else i can try? because i deleted about 6 people there now and its made no difference..

The levels of memory use you reported are nominal for Skype.   The lowest I've seen with any of the recent versions, and with Skype just started and idling, is ~80 MB.

If your PC can't stand that much without slowing down I'm afraid Skype isn't for you. 

edit:  "Can anything be done about this?"   Yes...you can add more RAM to your laptop so using 100 MB or so doesn't slow it to a crawl.  Seriously.  I'm not being facetious.

here you fine earlier versions! had the same problem as you, now it's solved, no need to make changes to your computer! good luck
