skype sign in and shutdown

Skype fails to sign me in at windows XP startup and fails to shutdown at windows shutdown. I have re installed the latest version but this is still happening. At shutdown, I have to click end now to get skype to stop.

Confirming the shutdown issue which began with 5.5.0.115 on WinXP.

The startup issue was reported in the previous release but does not seem to be an issue anymore.

@bobjchicago, look for a thread I started within the last few months about a signing/startup issue. The solution was to delete a XML file. Try that to resolve the startup issue. Then we might both just be stuck with the shutdown issue.

how can i fix it mine is doing the same thing. Once i sign in a box pops up and I have family out of state that I skype with and now i can't. i have uninstalled and re installed it and its not working at all and its a little frustrating.

It doesn't sound like yours is doing the same thing that's discussed in this thread.

I suggest you start a new thread/subject.  Try to be very specific about what the symptoms you're experiecing are.  Include the version of Skype you're running, and the version of Windows (XP, Vista, Win 7).
