skype opens to a background with no login please help

I unistalled skype the add or remove prgrams and reinstalled the latest version and check for updates which there are none. So why is my skype opening to a skype blue sky with skype name in top left and rainbow bottom right with no login options.. last night i was on and this morning nothing please help

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.

Please, answer first these questions:

What version of Windows are you on? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

Go to Windows Start and in the Search box type winver.exe and then press Enter.

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

Ok.  Try these steps created by user ruwim to correct your problem:

Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.

The Command Prompt window should show:

C:\Windows\SysWoW64>

If this is not the case, then at the Command Prompt type: cd c:\windows\SysWoW64 and press Enter.

Once you see C:\Windows\SysWoW64>

Type this and then press Enter:

regsvr32 jscript.dll

Next type this and press Enter:

regsvr32 jscript9.dll

After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.

Reboot your computer.

Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.

Open in your Internet Explorer (no other browser but only IE 32-bit version) this page:

http://www.mistered.us/test/alert.shtml

Click on the “Simply Click This Button” button and watch the response.

Iv got the same problem with my skype but I have windows 7 32Bit and IE9 would i just follow the same steps??

I am running Windows 7 64 bit version with IE 9 (32 bit version) and I have the same problem.  Followed the procedure above, but I get an error message at the second regsvr32 command - regsvr32 jscript9.dll - saying the module was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005.

Could you please help with that?

I suggest you uninstall IE 9.  See if you can then signin to Skype with IE 8 remaining.  If so, reinstall IE 9 and see if you can still signin to Skype.
