skype installation does not work

i have donwloaded the skype latest version and trying to install it but it doesnt go any further from the insatallation. the insatallation kept on goin for hours. how can i fix it??

system - windows 7 ultimate, core i7 2.80ghz, 8gb ram

same problem. hope it get fixed soon. i try to install the old version but it appears to be the same.

I have tried to install Skype recently too. I download the installation file and it gets to 100% but then nothing. Help would be appreciated
