my Skype works intermittenly. Sometimes I can hear and other times not. Sometimes I can be heard and other times not but the video works great. Please give me some help as I really have enjoyed Skype for the past several years. I would be extremely grateful if you could help me.
Thanks in advance.

I have Windows 7. Skype was working properly for months now, but today suddenly it started giving me this error - "Skype has stopped working. Window is trying to find a solution. For some reason it happens to me with specific contacts only - sounds weird but is true.
Have tried %appdata% thing, but did not help.

Maybe you should do a very careful scan of your system for any viruses or malwares/rootkits. See this post:
The common factor in all the cases is the Offset value: 0x001e4187.

Some more info that may be relevant:
1. I am running Skype (v5.8.0) in a VM (virtualbox). Skype in my real machine (v5.8.0) works fine.
2. If I block internet traffic (using a firewall), Skype does not crash. However, as soon as I allow trafic Skype crashes (See details above).
3. When I downgraded to an older version (v.5.0.0.152) Skype works fine in the VM.
4. Version 5.3 crashes again in the VM.
Thus, there was some change in a version between v5.0-5.3 that is causing the problem.
