I have tried the beta version and it won't even install. It starts to, and then just shuts down and ... nothing... Ugh...

Thanks Claudius, I read that, but

'1 - I don't want a beta version, for some people that is not working either

2- deleting files and stuff is too complicated for me. When this happened a month ago I updated to latest version and it got fixed. I believe is a Skype problem. Whatever Skype has done to create this, Skype has to fix, not us messing around with our computers and risking deleting something else, (not all of us are computer savys)  

And fix it, even if that means  a regular program update but not with a Beta version...

had the same problem too with an AMD processor, tried to troubleshoot for compatibility and it was fixed, well as for now, you should try troubleshooting to fix compatibility problems or download and older version

Don you made our Christmas.  Thank you for the suggestion.  All our Skypes are now working in our house !
