Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

All your conversation data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
Stop Skype from running on your computer (Quit). Open the Skype_old folder. Find there a folder named as your Skype name. Open this folder. You will see there a file named main.db. It may be shown as just “main” but with description Data base or DB in the Type column. Copy this file. Now open the newly created Skype folder and find again the folder with your Skype name. Paste the copy of the main.db file to this folder. Be sure that you actually overwrite the existing file and not just paste an additional copy.
