privacy and security doesn't work~!

I have sett the privacy settings per the instructions, over the last several weeks i have had six unathorised contacts -  why can people who are  NOT on my contact list still contact me ; they are invariably good time girls so what is going on; I have reported them as abuse ?

any ideas from anyone?

I now have 58 blocked users on Skype- what is going on? I don't have it on anything other than this Mac. I actually asked one of them how they found me and they said 'Skype Me'- but I can't find any settings that disable this, and as far as I can work out this function shouldn't even be on my version of Skype! Complete nightmare.

I set myself to invisible on both devices and that seemed to help. This is what Skype support said after I e-mailed them:

We are sorry to hear you are receiving calls and messages from random users whom you don't personally know. We will be glad to help you with your issue.

Since you have set up your privacy settings to both of your device, we suggest that you try to sign in to your Skype application at the same time and then, choose and click the radio button that says "People in my contact list only" and click "Save".

After that, kindly sign out and then log back in to your account. Purpose of that is to have your privacy settings to be reset.

We hope that the above suggestions resolved your issue. Should you require any further assistance, or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

I am having the same problem also, i am getting spams all the time, I think skype will be deleted from my computer if they do not do something about this, i put all mine to contacts only and i am getting random people that are from different countries, I had perverts and i am getting sick of all this crap.

I have the same problem. People thats is not in my contact list are sending messages, annoying messages of stupid actions or people who is just spending the time in there... All my prvacy settings are to share my details, allow sending me messages, get calls from MY CONTACT LIST, and Skype is not respecting it.... could you take a look and see what's going on? I need my privacy here... Don't want more messages from people I don't know, please....!!!!

I've been having the same problem

I'm sorry but I've done what the lady said but people have still been able to contact me on skype. I've even received really disturbing messages.. some have even tried calling me..
I love skype and have been using it for years now, but this is going a little to far and i'm on the verge of deleting my account. Please find a way to stop this.

can you guys doublecheck your privacy settings again?  there are times that privacy settings revert back to "anyone" due to some unknown reasons. 

If that would be the case, Just switch to offline status for at 5-10 seconds, then revert back to online. Then proceed in changing your privacy settings to desired options and the new settings should stick.  not certain of the logic behind this procedure, but it actually work in numerous similar cases.

I am constantly disturbed by people, specially the military in all parts of the world, asking me to add them to my skype.  I have been blocking these but they come back like a disease!!! If I cannot find a solution I am QUITTING SKYPE! I do not see any comments by the people responsible for skype where are you???? What must I do?

This person is not in my Contacts List. 

Why is there no option to Report This Abuse? Why no option to Block this person? But above all...

WHY CAN RANDOM PEOPLE CALL ME?
