Hi
My wife's Skype has a very strange problem. Let me explain.
I am for 2 months abroad and had to buy a prepaid internet subscription, so I stay online only for very short time to see if she is on Skype. If she isn't, and I send her an IM, then go offline, when she in turn goes online, she DOES NOT see my message, even using the history settings. Then, if I go online again while she is still online, she still DOES NOT see my last sent message until:
a) I send her another IM
b) she calls me, and switches the windows so that the IM area is visible
In both cases, my "invisible" message suddenly appears !
Is that a bug or a feature ?
I don't have that problem, I have version 5.10.0.115, she has 5.10.0.116.
Can you please tell us what to do to avoid this behaviour ?
Thanks
Bernard

Skype messages are only delivered when both the sender and the receiver are Online at the same time. There is currently no Offline messaging available on Skype. Your wife should have been able to see your messages as soon as you went Online on Skype. If this was not the case, then something is wrong with the connection between you and your wife. Try first to update your Skype to the latest 5.10.0.116 version. There were some bugs in the .115 version.

I called this feature a "bug".

Hi Ruwin
>>Skype messages are only delivered when both the sender and the receiver are Online at the same time<<
!!! I was completely convinced (and even thought I had read somewhere) that messages sent to a user who is offline were stored on Skype servers and served to that user when he/she would go online !
So you mean such a message is only stored on the sender's PC, and sent to the recipient the moment both are online ?
To me, that defats the whole purpose of the whole thing working regardless of who is online or not. In that case, e-mail is much better: I don't have to worry if me and the recipient will ever be online at the same time.
Frankly, I'm disappointed by that "feature".
OK, I'll upgrade my version anyway, but that doesn't really solve my problem. So it's back to Outlook or Gmail...
Thanks for help.
Bernard

Offline messaging on Skype was disabled about 2 years ago after a worldwide crash of Skype network. Only Skype developers know if this feature will ever be re-established.
