The current version, 18.104.22.168, has an option to configure a hotkey for snapshots. I have Alt-z configured. It works great.
If you don't have v22.214.171.124 (click on Help > About Skype to double check) you can download the full installer via this link: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full
Please refer to the screenshot below. just click the "+" button, then select Take a Picture to take a snapshot.
How do I know what updates have been installed? If it's 5.5 as above, the solution hasn't worked for me. All of a sudden I can't take snap shots either and the solution of clicking on the symbol at the bottom of the screen does not offer the option.
It would be very practical (and polite), if after an autoupdate, Skype informed on the new version. But anyway, you can lookup yourself the version number in menu Help - About.
We need an immediately accessible one click solution.
I agree with the above people. Moving the button into a menu from a quick button was a very bad idea. I don't understand how the designers or developers thought this would be a good idea. It was the first thing I looked for on Skype when I loaded 126.96.36.199 and I became upset right away that it was not there.
The majority of the time, pictures on Skype are not posed or set up. By the time you get to the button in the menu, and yes I mean the plus button on the bottom of the screen, the moment you were trying to capture is already gone.
Please fix this soon, its already been a month since people have started complaining about this...
