Re: disable mood history

I think you should have updated Skype by now.

It shouls work exactly the same as the preceding versions of Skype (on a Windows XP Service Pack 2).

Please kudo my post if you found it helpful or liked it. Thanks!

Re: disable mood history

thanks for your post! it solves my problem for months! hahahah, but i just want to ask if they will going to appear to my contacts' profile or they will be entirely deleted on my contacts profile, 'cause what just we did is we 'renamed' the keyval file so skype app will never find them in the COMPUTER.... if this will only be remove from my skype home but not it my contacts profile, it is like no sense of 'renaming' that file, since in only take effect on your computer, not on your contacts' profile....

Unfortunately, this is exactly the case. You can only change the appearance of your mood messages on your computer. There is no way for you to prevent that these old mood messages are shown on your contact’s Home page.

Re: disable mood history

So that's a real problem, could somebody write to a support team to fix that issue?

Re: disable mood history

For mac, go to ~/Library/Application Support/Skype/user_name you will find the keyval.db file there.

Re: disable mood history

Thank you RUWIM and DOCTWEET for the final fix in MAC.

I just renamed the file and it worked like a charm.

As noted by others though, this only solves my view of my mood messages. SKYPE really needs to add a delete button for these mood messages.  Alternately, they should be obliged to forewarn us that the mood messages are not delete-able prior to use.

Re: disable mood history

It is working. But I think, It is disabled in my computer only, and still showing to other's (my contacts) computer.

Am I right?

Re: disable mood history

keyval-db does the trick but Messy! How about making Mood Messages Optional and OFF by default as opposed to ON! Personally I hate them! Always chopping and changing the app too doesn't help... Look to solve this problem on the web and depending on versions you can find an option if predeferences, in advanced... or in my version of 5.7... nowhere at all! WOnderfully consistency... No doubt gonna get even better now that Micro$hit own Skype.... destroyed a once great app...
