cant perform skype install on windows 7 32 bit

Hello, my lap is on windows 7 32 bit.
I've downloaded the latest exe, once I click on it to install skype, there is a window poping up saying that the install cant be performed.
I need your help please. Thanks.

Please try installing from here, when prompted choose the open or run option: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

first of all, thanks for your help ; I tried all the instructions above but still having the same problem, once the run is completed i have a window prompted saying : we are having problems connecting to the download server .

can you help me please. thanks.

In your case please do this using your Windows Control Panel:

Internet Oprtions -> Delete Button -> Delete Button

Then try using the same link. From a IE ("Internet Explorer") browser window.

If that still fails please try downloading from here: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-msi

Same here.. been trying all night.. Can't upgrade to Skype 5.5.

Please try downloading/installing from here and choose the run or open option when prompted: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

If this fails, please delete your IE ("Internet Explorer") browser cache, cookies and temp files and try again using a IE browser window, even if IE is not your default browser.
