cannot open skyp

When I attempt to open skype I get the following message: skypesetup.exe is not a valid win 32 application.   How do I solve this situation?

Download the full installer for version 5.6.0.110 to your hard drive via this link:

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full-56

If running that installer files gives the same error, try this one:

http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_5.6.0.110.msi
