cannot log in after update to 5.9

After continuously told that I need to update skype and finding no way to turn this off I googled and read that in new version I can turn off automatic update.
So quite stupidly I decided to update to 5.9
Now I cannot log in any more.... I have had to make this stupid post here and still cannot... what a waste of time.

And now I have to look for solutions and waste more time. I am so angry at myself that I have no words. 

Why why was I so stupid to upgrade?!?!?!
First I will google for lower version of Skype.. maybe 0.1 or something that is not overloaded with useless "features". 
Even finding the download link from skype homepage is not easy any more. Because I already tried downloading fresh version and installing.... what a waste of time.
And this post is already so long... what a waste of time.

Haaaa, I found a great site - OldApps
Downloaded an earlier version of Skype and BAM!!! Solved.
Should maybe take an even earlier one where I can turn off autoupdate.

What version did you downgrade to?

I tried a bunch and none worked.
