can't type skype name and password

I logged into skype and an update pops up, so i updated my skype. After the update finished a black box appeared under the "Skype name", making me unable to type anything in. My password box is still white but is can't type anything in there aswell.

I tried uninstalling it and installing it again, i tried installing the older version i once had, i tried installing the beta version, tried restarting my computer a few times, but nothing worked.

Some help would be appreciated. Thanks

What version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer, and please, don’t say that you are not using IE. Skype is using Internet Explorer for login and several other functions.

Your version of IE is most likely a specially customized version (IC = Internet Content Provider) and might contain some restrictions concerning functionality. Probably the best solution for you is to bypass the new login screen (which requires IE) and force Skype to use the old (legacy) login screen, which doesn’t require IE.

Quit Skype. Make sure that you don’t see any Skype.exe processes in Windows Task Manager. If necessary, then stop these processes. Open C:\Program Files\ folder. If you have 64-bit Windows then it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. Find the Skype folder and then Phone. Right click on the Skype.exe file and select: Send to – Desktop (create shortcut). Right click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties and then the Shortcut tab. In the Target field you will see now: "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" (or with (x86) if you are on 64-bit Windows). Click with your mouse on the text in the Target field and move your curser one space after the last quotation sign and add the text /legacylogin. The text in the Target field should now read:

"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /legacylogin

Click OK to save the changes. Start Skype using this new shortcut.

ruwim, thanks for your instructions. I can login in legacylogin and it's works, but on the right site content can't load, and when i try to find / add skype user, i don't see anything in the window and i can't type anything...

i have checked Internet Explorer and i have the last version 9, when i tryied to download latest one, i get promt that i have newest.

What can i do to make it works?

The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.
