can't get stated because no contact tab to be found

i just signed up but am not getting the skype window to use skype and add contacts. there are no contact tabs to be found. I am on my laptop at home.

Are you on a Mac or a Windows machine?

Ok....download then run the full installer via this link:

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

When the install is complete, signin with your Skype name and password.  You'll then see the Contact list and be able to start using Skype's features.

That's not the subject being discussed in this thread.   Please start your own thread with details of what trouble you're actually having.   Include the version of Skype you're running and the version of Windows in your new thread.

It's great to see people helping others.! I'm on Windows, and last Sunday got "The Blue Screen of Death"--found out that meant my hard drive had "died".

Now I have a brand-new hard drive--but Skype "refuses" to display the page it used to display when I loaded Skype: the page showing my contacts. I cannot use Skype for anything, at present--I cannot evensearch for my contacts, or for anyone else.

WHAT I WANT: to see my contact list page when I log on to Skype, so that I can call a contact or send a text message.

The same solution that worked for the original poster in this thread should work for you, that is, download and run the full installer from this link: 

http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

How do I I download, or when do I know it's downloaded.  Do I need to download "Premium" if I paid for that>
