When I Skype, not only is there a little window where I can see what my picture looks like to the person I'm calling, but there is an additional window that shows me an identical picture of what the full screen image of the person I'm chatting with looks like.  I don't need to see that image twice and it is distracting and takes away from the full screen video picture.  How do I remove that smaller window from my Skype screen?

This is a new behaviour introduced with Skype 5.6 version. The pop-out window is shown whenever the call window is not in focus. You can switch this behaviour off by doing this:

Go to Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Show advanced options. Uncheck the option:" Show call controls when Skype is in the background"

In Skype Go to Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Show advanced options. Make sure that the option:" Show call controls when Skype is in the background" is checked.
