What is the correct way to enter Canadian phone numbers as nothing I try works?

It should be a standard phone number for Canada so don't know why it is not being accepted. An example would be 1+(604)-619-0000.
Not a real number of course but look like a real number if entered in this standard format for the real thing but why is it not working as everything looks okay but the Skype profile form just will not accept it and this is a major problem as it should be easy enough to do. Anyone know the correct answer - thanks!!! *removed for privacy*

to dial a number in Canada using Skype, dial:
+1, followed by the 3-digit area code, followed by the 7-digit number
from the look of your post you forgot the leading '+' (and the second '+' would be a problem if you are including it)

e.g.: numbers that begin with 647
They are working numbers but Skype considers them invalid. I do have a subscription that includes both landline and mobile calls.
