What is current version number of Windows system?

I was told in another forum that if I needed to find the current version number of Skpe it is listed in the Garage.  I snooped around here and didn't find it.  Where should I be looking?  I'm hoping to find a spot that is kept up to date, so that I can come in at any time and be confident that I'm getting current information.

you can simply click the "Get Skype" link above, to download the latest version of Skype for your operating system or the device you are using.  No need to go to the Skype garage blog section.  When Skype release a new update, they make it available in both the official download page (Get Skype section), and the Skype garage blog section (http://blogs.skype.com/garage).
