Upgrade problems!!!

My Skype stopped working this morning :smileysad:. It has enabled automatic updates and it worked normal so far. But this morning I got a message: The installed product does not match the installation source(s). Until a matching source is provided or the installed product and source are synchronized, this action can not be performed.

I've tried to reinstall Skype but I was not able to unistall it.

Re: Upgrade problems!!!

Locate the Skype.exe file. Usually you should find this file in C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone if you have 32bit Windows system or in C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone with 64bit systems. Try to double click on Skype.exe. This should start the application. A possible reason for the error message, which you have received trying to start Skype from the original desktop shortcut is that this shortcut is so-called advertised shortcut and actually points to the installation Skype.msi file and not directly to Skype.exe. If something went wrong with the .msi file, the original shortcut will not work.

No, I can't start skype anyway. It starts upgrading automaticaly and shows me the same error - says that older 5.3 version can't be removed and closes everything.

Re: Upgrade problems!!!

Did you ever get this fixed? I am having the same problem. Only I tried the full uninstall and now have Skype 5.0 partially installed. Can't uninstall that and can't upgrade to any other version.

You can uninstall Skype with Revo (Select advanced options-remove all)
http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-professional-version.php

Then reinstall latest Skype with this link:
